DVLA will later this year be conducting a retender process to select a supplier(s) to provide ongoing enforcement activities and vehicle disposal services. DVLA is tendering for two separate provisions. The first is for unlicensed vehicle clamping, removal, sale at auction and associated admin services. The second is for non-compliant vehicle detection and reporting via ANPR technology. Both services are UK wide and manage significant volumes of transactions for the DVLA. The current volume of Wheel clamping actions per year is in excess of 115k. DVLA would like to hold Innovation Days later in July and August 2017, which will focus on new/innovative solutions for Wheel clamping and ANPR provision.

Due to circumstances beyond the DVLA's control, the information about Supplier and Innovation Days has been changed.

DVLA plan to conduct a retender process to select a supplier(s) to provide ongoing enforcement activities and vehicle disposal supplies. DVLA will tender for 2 separate provisions. Innovation ideas on Wheel clamping vehicles and ANPR detection;

How the innovation would provide value for money to the tax payer;

The DVLA is considering the future shape of the contract with a view to:

Maximising the opportunities from the latest innovations in technology or approach;

Maximising the flexibility of enforcement operations in reducing VED evasion nationally, to enable scaling up or down of activities when and where needed;

Ensuring a maximum return on investment;

Ensuring successful enforcement action against all vehicle types.
