Community Benefits.
Community Benefits apply to this contract, the successful contractor will be expected to work with the University to open up opportunities for SME's, including enterprises, to bid for 2nd and 3rd tier supply chain opportunities arising from this contract. The successful contractor may also be expected to consider the opportunities to recruit and train long term economically inactive persons as part of the workforce delivering this work.
Cardiff University is committed to contributing to the social, economic and environmental well-being of the wider community. Consequently Community Benefits clauses will be considered as part of the proposed procurement as Core or Non-Core requirements to address relevant socio-economic/environmental issues.
Living Wage.
1. Cardiff University, as an employer, is committed to paying all employees not less than the Living Wage, as set annually by the Living Wage Foundation.
2. It is Cardiff University's preference for the Contractor to pay all employees who are employed by the Contractor to perform services pursuant to this agreement not less than the Living Wage, as set annually by the Living Wage Foundation. The Contractor shall use all reasonable endeavours to accede to this request.
3. If the Contractor sub-contracts all or part of the provision of the Services to a sub-contractor the Contractor shall request that any sub-contractor adheres to Clause 2.
Standstill Period.
Cardiff University will incorporate a standstill period at the point information on the award of the contract is communicated to tenderers. That notification will provide full information on the award decision. The standstill period, which will be for a minimum of 10 calendar days, provides time for unsuccessful tenderers to clarify or query the award decision before the contract is entered into The Public Contracts Regulations 2006 (SI 2006 No 5) / Utilities Contracts Regulations (SI 2005 No 6) (delete as appropriate) provide for aggrieved parties who have been harmed or are at risk of harm by a breach of the rules to take action in the High Court (England, Wales and Northern Ireland).
